The Man of God Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD declared AUGUST as the MONTH OF CONSCIOUS TRUTH
Pastor Chris emphasized the importance of conscious truth, highlighting that knowing the truth was not enough; one must have a consciousness of it (John 8:32, 14:6). He stressed that the Holy Spirit played a crucial role in helping believers understand and live in the truth (John 16:13-14). By meditating on the Word, believers could have a consciousness of the truth, and their spirits became trustworthy guides (Psalm 119:148, 2 Corinthians 4:1-2).
He warned against assumptions and misinterpretations of scripture, emphasizing the importance of submission to the Holy Spirit and being teachable (2 Corinthians 10:5, 1 John 2:27). He encouraged believers to live according to the truth of God's Word, rather than human diagnosis or worldly thinking (2 Timothy 1:7, Proverbs 3:5-6).
As new creations in Christ, believers are taxonomically different from non-Christians (2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 John 3:1-2). Pastor Chris encourages believers to understand their identity in Christ and live a life that manifests the glory of God, being guided by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14, 2 Peter 1:3-4). By doing so, we can live a life that is aligned with God's truth and righteousness (Matthew 5:48, 1 John 3:7-10).
